Vasile Nedelcu graduated in Stage Directing in 1995 from the prestigious Bucharest University of Theatre & Film, and taught for seven years in the same school, directing in parallel for different professional theatres. In 1995 and 1998 his productions were selected as amongst the best shows of the year at the Romanian National Theatre Festival. He completed his MA in Aesthetics and Art of Theatre in 2001. He moved to England in 2002 and works as a director and teacher. He created Atelier Theatre with his wife, Flora Smith, in 2009/2010, incorporating it as Atelier Theatre Studio, in 2016. He recently took 6 weeks out from the Atelier to direct the company of the Sica Alexandrescu Theatre, Brasov in Goldoni's The Liar, which is now playing in rep to full houses.
The photograph is their dog, Kipper, who takes the role of company mascot (extremely well behaved in rehearsals).
